Godzilla vs. Kong: Junkie XL shares the epic themes for each titan

It's been a long time coming — and COVID-19 certainly didn't help — but the release of Godzilla vs. Kong is nearly upon us. The long-awaited face-off between the two epic titans looks like a hell of a lot of fun, and the monster slug-fest will be accompanied by the music of Tom Holkenborg, aka Junkie XL. The main themes for Godzilla and King Kong have been released, so give them a listen below and get ready for a glorious monster mash in just a couple of weeks.

While speaking with Collider, Tom Holkenborg revealed that he had an enormous bass drum specially constructed for Kong's theme. "I was like, ‘Now I need a bass drum. How big can you make it? Seven foot? Eight foot?’" Holkenborg explained. "And he said, ‘Well, there are limits to a drum.’ And I said, ‘Well, why is that?’ He's like, ‘Well, it depends on the biggest cow skin we can find.’ I didn't even think about that. So, he found a big skin, and it turned out to be five feet in diameter. But boy, that thing is big." In fact, the whole thing was so big that when it arrived in a massive truck, it took six people to get the drum through his garage door.

Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, with Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir. The film is slated to hit theaters and HBO Max on March 31st.
