Joe Manganiello Deathstroke DC Justice League

Just last week Ben Affleck surprised everyone by tweeting a video showcasing live-action footage of Deathstroke, the DC villain who has gone up against many major DC heroes including Batman himself. It wasn't clear whether this appearance was going to be for Zack Snyder's upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE or Affleck's own standalone BATMAN film (The Wrap reported that Deathstroke would be the main villain in Affleck's Bat flick), but the identity of the actor inside the costume was a little more of a mystery, until now.

The Wall Street Journal chatted with DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns recently and Johns confirmed that Joe Manganiello will be playing Deathstroke. Exciting news, but Johns declined to comment on whether the character would show up for a cameo in JUSTICE LEAGUE. If you'll remember, this isn't the first time that Joe Manganiello and Deathstroke have been uttered in the same sentence, he was rumoured to be playing the character when he was involved with David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD but once Manganiello dropped out, the character of Deathstroke did as well.

Sound off below, how do you feel about Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke?
