Despite the disappointment which followed the series finale of Game of Thrones, HBO is intent on revisiting George R.R. Martin's sprawling franchise and Deadline has reported that the network is considering even more Game of Thrones prequel shows.
Take this with a grain of salt for now, but Deadline has heard that HBO is developing three possible new Game of Thrones projects, but the one that's the furthest along revolves around the great sea voyages made by Corlys Velaryon aboard the Sea Snake. Velaryon "journeyed to places including Pentos, Dragonstone and around the bottom of Westeros as well as to Lys, Tyrosh and Myr. He reached the fabled lands of Yi Ti and Leng, whose wealth doubled that of the House Velaryon, and him and the Ice Wolf headed north searching for passage around the top of Westeros, only to find frozen seas and icebergs as big as mountains." Corlys Velaryon is actually slated to appear in House of the Dragon where he'll be played by Steve Toussaint, so this project could be a spin-off of that series. A creative team that includes Bruno Heller is apparently already on board, but the other potential shows don't have any writers attached at the moment.
As for those other projects, there's also one set in Flea Bottom, the poorest slum district of King's Landing that was featured in Game of Thrones, as well as a show based on the 10,000 Ships, which refers to the "journey made by warrior queen Princess Nymeria and the surviving members of the Rhoynars, who traveled from Essos to Dorne following their defeat by the Valyrian Freehold in the Second Spice War." Again, there's no guarantee that HBO will move forward with any of those projects, as they also had multiple Game of Thrones prequels in development before they decided to move forward with House of the Dragon.
Speaking of House of the Dragon, the new series is slated to start shooting very soon and is based upon George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood, a Targaryen history book which chronicles the history of House Targaryen, starting off with "Aegon the Conqueror, creator of the Iron Throne, and [going on] to recount the generations of Targaryens who fought to hold the throne, all the way up to the civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons, that nearly tore their dynasty apart."
