The 2015 Sundance Film Festival lineup has added Rupert Goold’s feature directorial debut TRUE STORY to the lineup. The drama is based on actual events centered on the relationship between journalist Michael Finkel and Christian Longo, an FBI Most Wanted List murderer who for years lived outside the U.S. under Finkel's name. The movie stars Jonah Hill, James Franco, and Felicity Jones; we have the first images below so check them out.
Here is the synopsis:
When disgraced New York Times reporter Michael Finkel meets accused killer Christian Longo — who has taken on Finkel’s identity — his investigation morphs into an unforgettable game of cat and mouse. Based on actual events, Finkel’s relentless pursuit of Longo’s true story encompasses murder, love, deceit, and redemption.
I've been waiting to see anything from this movie and while it’s only the first images, the promising drama definitely has my attention. We should have a trailer soon enough as it's getting a limited release next year so check back to see if Hill and Franco's have that dramatic chemistry to make it work.
The 2015 Sundance Film Festival runs from January 22, 2015 to February 1, 2015. TRUE STORY opens in select theaters Friday, April 10, 2015.
