The first FANTASTIC BEASTS movie proved that no matter who is firing spells from a wand, audiences will flock to the theaters to get more of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. The success looks to continue this fall with the release of FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD, and according to a new Fandango survey (via EW) the movie is the most anticipated of the fall season, with the Freddie Mercury biopic BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY coming in at a close second.

Audiences are psyched for another magical adventure with Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), and this time around we will get to see a young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law), and together they will take on the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). The first movie did well at the box office making over $700 million worldwide, and the sequel promises to expand on the world and lead to several more sequels.
In a fall filled with the highly-anticipated new HALLOWEEN movie, Disney’s RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET and Sony’s Marvel movie VENOM, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY’s place as the second-most anticipated movie of the fall is a bit surprising. The biopic will center on Mercury and his time as the frontman of one of the most popular bands of all time, and the first previews for the movie have blown people away with their energy and depiction of glorious stage shows.
Rounding out the list is VENOM in third, RALPH in fourth, and the Bradley Cooper-directed drama A STAR IS BORN in fifth. The movie will be one of the first major Oscar contenders to hit theaters (October 5), and already the buzz is hot on the music drama. Cooper and Lady Gaga are also on the list for most anticipated actor and actress, with the pair leading for Most Anticipated Movie Duos. Funny, I would've voted for Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle in HALLOWEEN, but I guess I'm just a weirdo.
