The premiere date announcement seems to indicate that the series will continue its weekly release schedule, much like the first season did when it premiered along with the launch of the Disney+ streaming service. There is still no trailer for season 2 as of yet but with the announcement of the official premiere date, I suspect that first look will be coming soon. Disney CEO Bob Chapek confirmed months ago that, because they were working on post-production remotely, the second season of The Mandalorian was still on track to arrive in October and this solid date proves he was a man of his word.
The first season of The Mandalorian became a critical and fan favorite hit for Disney+ after it premiered on the streaming platform on November 12, 2019. The eight-episode first season was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, a rarity for the genre, and it has also received 15 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards nominations, including nominations for actors Giancarlo Esposito and Taika Waititi, and composer Ludwig Goransson. Set five years after the events of the RETURN OF THE JEDI and 25 years prior to the events of THE FORCE AWAKENS, the show follows the title character, a Mandalorian bounty hunter named Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal), and his exploits beyond the reaches of the New Republic.
