Comic-Con fans will have something to be very thankful for come this year's Turkey Day! It appears that the geekfest convention will be back as an in-person event on November 26, 2021. And yes, that date is the day after Thanksgiving, also known as Black Friday! Confab hasn't been in-person at the San Diego Convention Center since 2019 (pre-Covid), deciding to go all virtual for last year.
The announcement on Comic-Con’s website promises to feature “all the great elements that make Comic-Con such a popular event each year. Hopefully this event will shore up our financial reserves and mark a slow return to larger in-person gatherings in 2022.”
So it's about the fans and about the money. Makes sense. I'm glad the movie industry is inching its way closer back to normal. Not too sure about the Thanksgiving weekend date, but at least most people will be off of work. To say the least, it should be very interesting to see how the Comic-Con folks pull this off. What do you guys think of this new date? Let us know in the comments below!
