Deadline is reporting that Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer have been added to the TRANSFORMERS "writer's room" that will help develop the franchise's cinematic universe, joining ANT-MAN scribes Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (who have been tapped for a rumored to be animated Cybertron origin movie and a live-actin film), IRON MAN's Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, PACIFIC RIM 2's Zak Penn, THE AMAZING SPIDER MAN 2's Jeff Pinkner and The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.
Christina Hodson was recently hired by Warner Bros. to write a new take on THE FUGITIVE, and three of her scripts have landed on the Black List. Lindsey Beer has a background in neuroscience and the intersection of technology and society, and has been involved with projects like The Weinstein Company's SHORT CIRCUIT remake and Disney's DIG. The screenwriter is also working on a re-imagined version of THE WIZARD OF OZ for Warner Bros.
With the hiring of Hodson and Beer, the TRANSFORMERS brain trust is no longer a complete sausage fest, and it'll be interesting to see what they bring to the franchise.
A release date hasn't been announced yet for the next TRANSFORMERS film, but many think it will be released sometime in 2017.
