With GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: VOL. 3 going through some monumental changes at the moment, it would seem that Star-Lord actor Chris Pratt has time in his already busy schedule to consider another cinematic adventure. Today, Deadline exclusively reported that Paramount Pictures is hoping to land the JURASSIC WORLD franchise lead for a relaunch of THE SAINT action franchise. Those close to the deal have stressed that negotiations are still in very early days, though the studio is hopeful that Pratt will sign on.
Set to be produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura (FOUR BROTHERS, SHOOTER, TRANSFORMERS), THE SAINT began as a series starring Roger Moore as Simon Templar, a well-to-do adventurer. Then in 1997, Val Kilmer stepped into the role of Templar for director Phillip Noyce's (RABBIT PROOF FENCE) big screen version of the romantic action odyssey.
Next up for Pratt is THE LEGO MOVIE 2: THE SECOND PART, in which he'll reprise his role as the affable Emmet Brickowski. In May, he'll star as Grant Cutler for THE KID from director Vincent D'Onofrio. After that, Pratt will rejoin the dinosaurs for JURASSIC WORLD 3, which is slated for a 2012 release.
