Check out Luke Evans as a bloodsucker in first posters for Dracula Untold

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

We have been hearing about DRACULA UNTOLD for a while now and that it would be yet another origin tale about Bram Stoker‘s famous character. This time, we would be going back way before what has been seen on screen outside of the opening sequence to Francis Ford Coppola’s film starring Gary Oldman. This time, it is hard to even tell if vampires will directly play into DRACULA UNTOLD.

The new posters for the film give us Luke Evans clad in armor with a long cape that appears to be made of bats. While it doesn’t scream Dracula to me, it definitely looks like an alternate universe MEDIEVAL BATMAN which now I am very excited to see.

Luke Evans (FAST AND FURIOUS 6, IMMORTALS) stars in Dracula Untold, the origin story of the man who became Dracula. Gary Shore directs and Michael De Luca produces the epic action-adventure.

DRACULA UNTOLD has been bouncing around the release calendar for a while and without a major name I am not sure how well it will do when it finally hits screens. I will reserve judgement until I see some footage, but as cool as these posters are, they may be the most intriguing aspect of this project.

DRACULA UNTOLD co-stars Sarah Gadon, Diarmaid Murtagh, Dominic Cooper and will hit theaters on October 17, 2014.
