Cast This: Who should direct the Justice League?

JUSTICE LEAGUE, you are the bastard of superhero films, and haven’t even been made yet. Are you finally going to get your chance to shine? Not if we don’t find a director to take this monster of a project on.

There have been talks of a JUSTICE LEAGUE movie since 2007. In 2008, it seemed like it was really happening then was pulled. Later it came out that the intention was to have solo films that lead up to the final banding together of the JLA, much like what happened with THE AVENGERS. Well, since them there have been 2 Batman films and one for GREEN LANTERN. SUPERMAN RETURNS had released two years prior. George Miller (MAD MAX) held on up until about 2010 when the final nail was put in the coffin. With the more recent success of THE AVENGERS, Warner Bros. thought it was time to kick it into gear and get a film made. Yeah, we’ll see…

I have no clue what to expect from this film. I want to root for it, but find it hard since DC (with the exception of Batman) hasn’t really delivered good solo films on their end. There’s also the fact that you have to get the cast into place, with Christian Bale out of the question, Batman has to start over. Will Beall (GANGSTER SQUAD) is still serving as screewriter. The goal here is to find a decent helmer for this thing. Recently, a shortlist was put together with these directors that were being sought out: The Wachowskis, Zack Snyder, Brett Ratner, Ruben Fleischer and McG. Ben Affleck was on that list, but decided to pass.

This mission, should you choose to take it, involves putting a director in the chair with the hopes that he/she can do some justice on JUSTICE LEAGUE.

You guys did not spare me when it came to your ideas for THE EXPENDABLES 3. I thought twelve would be a good rounded out cast. There were a couple of suggestions for who should be the bad guy in the third film. Most of you suggested that role go to Nicolas Cage. I will accept this as long as he punches a bear in the face. I was really happy with the cast you guys chose, especially Carl Weathers. Everyone that suggested him gets a manly hug handshake. As far as the females were concerened, there were no surprises there. I will vote Ripley/Connor 2012.
