Best Movie & TV Trailers of the Week! Avengers, Toy Story 4, Child’s Play

Saddle up, gang! It's time for the best movie & TV trailers of the week!

This is a week for tearjerker trailers, it seems. To start, we have a very nostalgic trailer for AVENGERS: ENDGAME, which is mainly filled with flashbacks to the past 21 films over the past 10 years. There's also a TV spot with Joe and Anthony Russo discussing the upcoming highly anticipated end to their saga. According to the brothers and longtime buisness partners, ENDGAME will show our heroes in the wake of their massive loss, trying to figure out where to go from here. The Marvel tycoons argue that they don't chase 'bigger', they chase great storytelling, but they do feel that the epic scale of their movies requires a canvas that only shooting in IMAX can provide. Whatever it takes, the Russos are going to bring us the best possible version of AVENGERS: ENDGAME that they can. I'm pretty stoked, to say the least. ENDGAME hits theaters on April 26th.

Speaking of tearjerker, there's also a brand new trailer for TOY STORY 4 featuring the return of beloved character Bo Peep, as she shows Woody a world where lost toys can blossom — something this old Cowboys never would've found appealing in the past, but with his best girl at his side, might be willing to give a shot. 

There's also a new trailer for CHILD'S PLAY, which looks promising, although they still won't show us what Chucky looks like in action. This is a little disconcerting, but I'm a firm believer in waiting to judge the product until you watch the movie, and it definitely helps that both PARKS AND REC's Aubrey Plaza and ATLANTA's Brian Tyree Henry are main characters in this reboot. Also, STAR WARS icon Mark Hamill is voicing the maniacal little plastic ginger this time around! How cool is that?

Next up, we have TV trailers! This week brings us STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Season 7, SWAMP THING, THE BOYS, GOOD OMENS, JINN KRYPTON Season 2, TOP GEAR Season 26, BIG LITTLE LIES Season 2, TUCA & BERTIE, THE RAIN Season 2, FLINCH DEEP STATE Season 2, INTO THE DARK: ALL THAT WE DESTROY, and WHEN THEY SEE US.

It's a tough call, but this week, the best trailer award goes to TOY STORY 4. Not only does the trailer bring tears to my eyes, but after a brief visit to Pixar a little over a week ago, I can assure you that the final chapter (is it the final chapter?) of the TOY STORY saga is going to be one for the books. How is it possible that a spork could elicit so much emotion? Brilliant storytelling and a team of over a thousand animators, editors, writers, and more is the easy answer, but it's also the fact that we grew up with these toys, we know Woody and Buzz like we know the back of their hands, and as tough as it was saying goodbye in TOY STORY 3, seeing them together again onscreen is sure to bring even the stoniest of hearts to tears.
