Benedict Cumberbatch leaves Guillermo Del Toro’s haunted house movie Crimson Peak

Benedict Cumberbatch

Lame. Variety has learned that Benedict Cumberbatch has left Guillermo Del Toro's CRIMSON PEAK. It is unknown why he has exited the film, but sources say it is not because of another project. Cumberbatch isn't the first person to drop from CRIMSON PEAK: Emma Stone was attached to the film at one point as well before leaving back in June. Shooting for CRIMSON PEAK is suppose to start in January or February, so Guillermo Del Toro does have plenty of time to find a replacement.

I was really looking forward to some gothic, kinky fun with Benedict Cumberbatch and it sucks he has left CRIMSON PEAK in my opinion. Cumberbatch is a very busy dude lately so maybe he didn't think he'd have the time to fully commit to CRIMSON PEAK, but I still wish he could have found a way.

Feeling a little blue now? Me too. Here's some of Benedict Cumberbatch from the British movie STARTER FOR 10 to help cheer you up.
