Plot and casting details are still under wraps regarding the UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM, aside from the fact that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing, and Alden Ehrenreich will be playing the titular smuggler. Word on the street is that shooting will commence in early 2017, and it looks like the directors have chosen an integral crew member to join them on their journey. Miller recently confirmed on Twitter that ARRIVAL cinematographer Bradford Young will be in charge of the visual aesthetic of the Han Solo prequel.

Bradford Young may not be a household name, but the man's last three movies (ARRIVAL, SELMA, A MOST VIOLENT YEAR) all sport a serious sense of atmosphere that compliment the story. Given the directors, I have no doubt that this HAN SOLO flick will have a fun vibe to it, but something tells me that this story may be a little more serious than we're used to getting. Then again, anything would probably seem more serious in comparison to the likes of THE LEGO MOVIE and the JUMP STREET flicks. Either way, I can't wait!
The UNTITLED HAN SOLO STAR WARS ANTHOLOGY FILM is scheduled to hit theaters on May 25, 2018.
