Ariane Labed to join Michael Fassbender in Assassin’s Creed

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It's not often that you see a video-game based film boosting such a prestigious cast, but ASSASSIN'S CREED has been fortunate enough to snag both Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard for lead roles. The film's unique casting has continued as Deadline reports that Ariane Labed will join Fassbender and Cotillard in ASSASSIN'S CREED.

It's not known which role Labed will be taking on in ASSASSIN'S CREED, but it will be the same one that Alicia Vikander was rumoured to have been circling a while back. Vikander decided to move on to the fifth BOURNE film instead, leaving the door open for the producer's to quickly scoop up Ariane Labed. The actress hasn't quite broken out to the same degree that Alicia Vikander has thanks to EX MACHINA, but ASSASSIN'S CREED could provide a wonderful introduction for the young actress. If you've wondering what you might have seen Ariane Labed in, you're not alone; I had to look up her filmography to discover that I've only seen her once before in Richard Linklater's wonderful BEFORE MIDNIGHT.

After many delays, production on ASSASSIN'S CREED will finally begin in early fall for its December 21, 2016 release. Michael Fassbender commented on the delays saying that "it just takes time to get a good story together and we really want to do it right. It’s exciting." A blockbuster film taking its time to get the story right? You're blowing my mind Michael.
