Ant-Man 3: Corey Stoll reportedly returning as Yellowjacket

Spoilers for Loki. Consider yourself warned. First appearing in Ant-Man, Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) was a former protégé of Hank Pym's (Michael Douglas) who wound up taking over his company and creating a militarized version of the Ant-Man suit known as Yellowjacket. After battling Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Cross met a gruesome end when the Yellowjacket suit collapsed on itself and shrunk uncontrollably into nothingness…or so it seemed.

Earlier this year, Evangeline Lilly got fans wondering whether Corey Stoll might be returning as Yellowjacket when she tagged Stoll in a since-deleted Instagram post of the upcoming sequel's script. Since then, we've seen a giant Yellowjacket helmet pop up in the latest episode of Loki when the title character is sent to the Void, a dimension at the end of time where everything the TVA prunes gets sent to. Given all the theories connecting the TVA to the Quantum Realm, it's possible this is where Darren Cross ended up. In an episode of Vanity Fair's Still Watching podcast, VF's senior writer Joanna Robinson commented on the easter egg and seemed to confirm that Corey Stoll will be returning for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, at least in some form.

There’s a Yellowjacket helmet. This large version of the helmet that I suppose Corey Stoll wore in Ant-Man, and the only reason that is super interesting to me is because there’s a theory going around that all of the TVA stuff is taking place in the Quantum Realm because it’s a place out of time, and so, I don’t know if that’s an indication of something to come, but do know that Corey Stoll, in some shape, will be back for Ant-Man 3.

This is far from a confirmation, so don't treat it as such, but it would be interesting to see Ant-Man's first villain return once again, especially if he's joined forces with Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). The final episode of Loki's first season will debut on Disney+ next week. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently in production and is set to hit theaters on February 17, 2021.
