Amazon unveils unsettling teaser for Welcome To The Blumhouse

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Amazon Studios and Blumhouse Television have unveiled the teaser for Welcome to the Blumhouse and it showcases four unsettling films under one roof.

Featuring the song "What's Up" by FJØRA produced by Linda Perry in a re-imagining of her original version, the teaser reveals that BLACK BOX, EVIL EYE, THE LIE, and NOCTURNE are the first four of eight films in the Welcome to the Blumhouse series, set to premiere worldwide on Amazon Prime in October.  According to Amazon Studios, the movies will be "Sharing the spine-tingling suspense that’s a Blumhouse signature, each film presents a distinctive vision and unique perspective on common themes centered around family and love as redemptive or destructive forces. This slate marks the first ever program of Amazon Original movies on Prime Video that are thematically connected. The films showcase exciting up-and-coming talent, alongside established actors in exceptional and shocking new roles."

The series will begin with BLACK BOX and THE LIE on October 6, 2020. Inn BLACK BOX, after losing his wife and his memory in a car accident, a single father undergoes an agonizing experimental treatment that causes him to question who he really is. In The LIE, when their teenaged daughter confesses to impulsively killing her best friend, two desperate parents attempt to cover up the horrific crime, leading them into a complicated web of lies and deception.

Following these two films on October 13, 2020, will be EVIL EYE and NOCTURNE. In EVIL EYE, a seemingly perfect romance turns into a nightmare when a mother becomes convinced her daughter’s new boyfriend has a dark connection to her own past. In NOCTURNE, inside the halls of an elite arts academy, a timid music student begins to outshine her more accomplished and outgoing twin sister when she discovers a mysterious notebook belonging to a recently deceased classmate.

I thought this sounded like an interesting project when the key art was revealed last month and the teaser, plus film descriptions make it seem like one to watch. As for the final four films of this film series, they will be released sometime in 2021. Will YOU be watching Welcome to the Blumhouse? The series premieres on October 6, 2020.
