So this is potentially exciting! While I admittedly wasn't much of a fan of the most recent Mortal Kombat film, one of the highlights was definitely Joe Taslim's menacing performance as a more villainous take on Bi-Han, a.k.a. Sub-Zero. However, SUPER DUPER SPOILERS!!!!! Sub-Zero didn't make it to the end of the film…but as fans of the franchise know, no one stays dead forever in Mortal Kombat, and indeed in MK lore, Bi-Han returns from the dead as the evil Noob Saibot!
Taslim even alluded to this in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stating:
If the fans want this franchise to continue, then there’s a strong chance that the next step for Bi-Han is to play Noob Saibot…Fingers crossed, but I hope it happens because I definitely want to play that character. If they do a sequel, then we are probably going to see Noob Saibot.
As I said, not sure how looking forward I am to a sequel to this version of the MK universe, but Taslim as Noob is something that might suck me back in. This also wouldn't be the first time Noob Saibot was introduced into live-action – both in Mortal Kombat Annihilation as the second ninja Ermac releases during his fight with Sonya Blade (at least that's how the character is credited), and a weird episode of the short-lived Mortal Kombat: Conquest TV series.
But what do you guys think? Would you like to see Taslim play Noob? Either way, sound off below!
