that I picked up from that dirty ass truck-stop and my glorious 9 minutes with
the hooker I met in the parking lot; I know you all must be heart broken. What
this is about is a little straight-to-DVD flick and it’s probably unnecessary
sequel that’s coming out.
REST STOP was released
last year and follows
two runaway lovers who pause at an
abandoned rest stop. Than the boyfriend disappears. And someone else appears –
someone with his own demented sense of fun. With drills. Staple guns. Box
cutters. All the tearing, grinding, ripping tools you need to hew wood. Or
metal. Or people. Especially young, pretty people just like Nicole.
I had heard that this
flick was actually pretty brutal to watch, even as far as bad horror flicks go,
but according to
Movie Hole who spoke with John Shiban who
directed the first,
REST STOP
is being brought back into the fold by Warner Brothers to create another
straight to DVD sequel. Shiban had this to say to
Movie Hole:
“Domestically, in the U.S, it [Rest Stop] has done so well – for Warners, for an
original DVD, its sold more than any in their history – that now I have to come
up with another one. I actually just started … digging into the outline. It’s
going to be fun”.
Like I said I never
saw the first one, and judging by what our own DVD Pub reviewer Willard said
here
about it, I doubt I ever will. Although I must admit that
Jaimie Alexander (seen above and below) is looking mighty fine, and I wouldn’t
be opposed to watching her run all over screen for an hour and a half. What say
you? Has anyone seen the first, and does it even warrant a sequel? Spit some
bullets below and let us all know!
