It's hard to believe that we'll all be able to get our eyes on Spike Lee's OLDBOY very shortly as its release is just around the corner. To hold us over until its November 27th release, FilmDistrict has dished out a few alternate one-sheets to go along with yesterday's poster and we've got them all right here for you guys and gals. And guess what? Only one of them has a hammer in it! I only say that because it seems like just about every poster we've seen so far has put a major emphasis on that damn hammer, which is great and all, I just hope that Spike Lee's hammer scene can live up to what Chan-wook Park gave us in the original—I know, wishful thinking.
OLDBOY is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of Joe Doucette, a man who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement, for no apparent reason. When he is suddenly released without explanation, he begins an obsessive mission to find out who imprisoned him, only to discover that the real mystery is why he was set free.
OLDBOY will star Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Samuel Jackson, Bruce Hornsby, and James Ransone and was directed by Spike Lee from a script by Mark Protosevich. The film was produced by Roy Lee, Doug Davison, and Nathan Kahane. Look for it in theaters on November 27, 2013.
