More details surface on Harker, Jaume Collet-Serra’s Dracula movie

Early this morning we heard about ORPHAN and UNKNOWN director Jaume Collet-Serra’s next flick being a vampire variant on BRAM STOKER’S DRACULA. Well, now we know more…

Deadline has unearthed some fresh details regarding the film, starting with the title. The project is now to be referred to as HARKER, which comes from a spec-script by Lee Shipman and Brian McGreevy. Word is the project is close to being acquired by Warner Bros., which is also distributing Serra’s UNKNOWN.

HARKER focuses on Jonathan Harker, the Scotland Yard detective who is tracking Dracula, and the script sets up the sleuth as a potential new franchise character.

As we told you, Leo DiCaprio’s Appian Way production company is producing. At this time, Leo has no plans to act in the film.

Although Shipman and McGreevy have yet to see a script of theirs produced, they’re apparently up and coming scribes. The former has ONCE UPON A TIME IN HELL in development, the latter wrote the genre novel “Hemlock Grove.”
