Morbius: Matt Smith Interview

Matt Smith is one of the best in the biz. From Doctor Who to The Crown, he defies typecasting, and, in Morbius, he takes a step into super-villainy as the titular character’s best friend, Milo. Both he and Morbius (Jared Leto) suffer from the same incurable blood disease. When Morbius discovers a cure that carries a terrible price – mainly uncontrollable blood lust – he views it as a curse. Milo sees it as something else, and Smith, as he explains in our interview, relished chewing the scenery as the colourful baddie.

In our interview, Smith explains his feelings on superhero movies (like everyone – he’s a Batman fan) and compares acting in Morbius to his more internal work on shows like The Crown. We also take a moment to acknowledge a terrific movie he has coming out soon, The Forgiven, which is due to open later this spring (read our review here).

Morbius hits theatres Thursday night. Check back after 8 pm ET this evening for our full review, and make sure to check out our interview with Jared Leto below!
