Director Roland Emmerich, who knows his way around a disaster film having helmed the likes of Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow, is back with a sci-fi disaster movie called Moonfall. The first teaser trailer has been released and hints at his latest vision of worldwide destruction.
In the film, “a mysterious force knocks the Moon from its orbit around Earth and send it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it. With mere weeks before impact and the world on the brink of annihilation, NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler (Halle Berry) is convinced she has the key to saving us all, but only one astronaut from her past, Brian Harper (Patrick Wilson) and a conspiracy theorist K.C. Houseman (John Bradley) believe her. These unlikely heroes will mount an impossible last-ditch mission into space, leaving behind everyone they love, only to find out that our Moon is not what we think it is.” Moonfall also stars Josh Gad, Michael Pena, Kelly Yu, Donald Sutherland, and Charlie Plummer.
We actually got an early look at a lot more Moonfall footage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last week. Read all about it right here and check out the video posted below!
