It looks like fans can’t wait to see the latest Disney+ Marvel series, Moon Knight. The Oscar Isaac-led series debuted its trailer last week and it’s already breaking some records for the MCU.

The Moon Knight trailer saw over 75 million people viewing it within its first 24 hours. The trailer made its premiere during ESPN’s broadcast of the NFL Wildcard Match between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Rams to an audience of around 23 million people. Its simultaneous release online was watched by a further 52 million.

As reported by “The Hollywood Reporter”, via ComicBook.Com, the viewing numbers for the Moon Knight trailer show that the Disney+ Marvel series are growing in popularity as the movies did over their first decade of release. Loki and WandaVision pulled in 60 million and 52 million views in their first 24 hours while Hawkeye came in at 41.5 million. All three shows featured characters well-known to MCU watchers so the fact that Moon Knight’s views are holding their own with those series is a solid indication of the anticipation surrounding the upcoming show. The only series ahead of Moon Knight in 24-hour views is The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which pulled in 125 million views after premiering during the Super Bowl.

Per the official synopsis for the show, “The series follows Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”

The Moon Knight series was first announced in August of 2019 and Mohamed Diab was chosen to lead the directing team. Diab directed the first four episodes of the series while Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead were chosen to direct the other two. Filming began in late April 2021 in Budapest, followed by production in Jordan, which concluded in early October before moving to Atlanta, Georgia.

Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, and May Calamawy. Mohamed Diab and the team of Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead directed the episodes. Jeremy Slater is the head writer, and Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Mohamed Diab, Jeremy Slater, and Oscar Isaac are the executive producers. Grant Curtis, Trevor Waterson, and Rebecca Kirsch serve as co-executive producers.

Are YOU surprised by the number of views the Moon Knight trailer achieved in its first 24 hours? Moon Knight is scheduled to be premiere on March 30, 2022, on Disney+.
