Here's a pair of updates for retellings/re-imaginings featuring classic horror movie characters: FRANKENSTEIN starring Daniel Radcliffe and Universal's origins movie for Dracula.
THR is reporting that Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay is in talks to join FRANKENSTEIN, which retells the classic story from Igor's (Radcliffe) point of view and James McAvoy is also onboard as Dr. Frankenstein. Findlay's role would be that of a trapeze artist who becomes friends with Igor after he saves her from an accident.
DRACULA has gone through a couple of title changes, but maybe the third time will the charm for Universal: the studio has announced that the film will now be called DRACULA UNTOLD. The film from director Gary Shore will focus on how Prince Vlad became the bloodsucker and production is currently underway in Ireland with Luke Evans as the lead.
Filming for FRANKENSTEIN should start sometime this fall and DRACULA UNTOLD will be in theaters on October 3rd, 2014.
