With MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT only five months away you would think production would have wrapped months ago. But the production of this movie hasn’t exactly been normal, and after a few bumps and the shooting of some insane helicopter action, production on FALLOUT has officially, finally wrapped.
Director Christopher McQuarrie took to Instagram to make the announcement that shooting has wrapped, saying, all in all, it included “3000 setups, 13 helicopters, 6 pregnancies, 5 hiatuses, 4 weeks of aerial photography, 3 continents, 2 winters, [and] 1 broken ankle.” Show business!
Filming began in April 2017 but had to stop production for over two months that fall after Tom Cruise broke his ankle filming a stunt. Cruise putting his body on the line for our enjoyment may have halted production a tad, but the movie still kept its July release date.
There is still plenty to do with the new movie, and with a few months left to go before release, the team has plenty of time to put the finishing touches on the flick. The first trailer debuted during the Super Bowl, receiving massive amounts of acclaim – even stealing some thunder away from JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. The movie may have taken a bit longer to shoot than normal, but the trailer proves it was all worth it.
