Actors like Daniel Day-Lewis must immerse themselves completely into a role in order to perform at their best, but even he would say “nope” when it comes to flying a helicopter, by himself, for a movie. Tom Cruise laughs in the face of such danger, and trained for months to learn how to pilot a helicopter, and then used those skills to fly the machine, all alone, during an incredible stunt for MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT. A new featurette explores the preparation and filming of the stunt, and after watching it, it will be impossible not to think of Cruise as one of the greatest showmen ever.
This feature comes after Sunday’s immaculate trailer, and it would be safe to say M:I 6 is one of the most hotly anticipated movies of an already crowded summer. And how about a shoutout to the crew for rigging up the helicopter that way! It's gonna look amazing! Each movie keeps upping the ante, and FALLOUT appears to not only do that on a stunt level, but on a character level as well. I don’t like the phrase “buckle up” when it comes to talking about seeing a movie, but I genuinely feel I will need to be strapped to my seat in order to contain my excitement.
MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT arrives July 27.
