Mireille Enos suspects she’s being stalked in You Were Never Here

Former performance artist Camille Thoman has made her narrative feature directorial debut with the psychological thriller YOU WERE NEVER HERE, which uses "the mysterious performance art world of New York City as an atmospheric backdrop".

Thoman also wrote the screenplay for the film, which has the following synopsis:

Disturbing events lead an artist who photographs strangers to suspect that someone out there is watching her. Boundaries blur between real and imaginary, crime and art, the watcher and the watched.

The writer/director reiterated that part about blurred boundaries in a quote where she said that this is a story of "the blurred lines between aggressor and victim, madness and sanity".

Well, I'm intrigued, and my interest in YOU WERE NEVER HERE is boosted by the cast – Mireille Enos plays the artist "who may be taking things too far", and her co-stars include Sam Shepard, Goran Visnjic, Vincent Piazza, and Nina Arianda.

Enos starred in the North American version of the Danish TV series The Killing and also had roles in the Arnold Schwarzenegger film SABOTAGE and WORLD WAR Z. She's expected to return for WORLD WAR Z 2 whenever that gets off the ground.

YOU WERE NEVER HERE was produced by Thoman, Julian Cautherley, Radium Cheung, Bronwyn Cornelius, Corey Moosa, and Elizabeth Yng-Wong. Neal Dodson and Zachary Quinto were executive producers.

International distribution rights for the film are now up for grabs at the American Film Market.
