Mindhunter season 2 trailer investigates the Atlanta Child Murders

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Based upon the true crime book "Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit" written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker, the first season of Mindhunter took place in the early days of criminal psychology and criminal profiling at the FBI and followed FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), along with psychologist Wendy Carr (Anna Torv), as they interview imprisoned serial killers with the hope of learning more about what makes them tick.

The Netflix series quickly became one of my favourites, and the second season of Mindhunter is nearly upon us with the release of a new trailer. Jumping forward several years, the new season will focus on the Atlanta Child Murders, a series of murders committed in Atlanta, Georgia in which at least 28 child, adolescents, and adults were killed throughout 1979-1981. In addition to tackling this new case, the team will still find the time to interview serial killers, which will include Charles Manson, who will be played by ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD's Damon Herriman. Fans of Fringe will likely be pleased to see Michael Cerveris (who played The Observer) pop up as the BSU's new director, marking a mini-reunion with Fringe star Anna Torv.

The second season of Mindhunter will drop on Netflix on August 16th.
