Milla Jovovich would like to see The Fifth Element rebooted

Milla Jovovich can be seen in a theater near you this weekend giving David Harbour's new HELLBOY and run for his red-handed money, but she will always be Leeloo from director Luc Besson's THE FIFTH ELEMENT to this here movie fan. And speaking of her iconic role, in a recent interview, she was asked which she would rather see remade/rebooted: RESIDENT EVIL or THE FIFTH ELEMENT. Jovovich quickly replied:

The Fifth Element. It would be really interesting to see someone else play Leeloo. It would be very interesting to see who could try.

I agree! With more and more 90's movies getting the reboot treatment (CANDYMAN and THE CRAFT spring to mind) it's really only a matter of time before we get another FIFTH ELEMENT movie. Whether its a remake, reboot, or sequel. We'll see within the next couple of years, I'd wager. How would YOU feel about a remake/reboot of THE FIFTH ELEMENT? Let us know below!

The original film took place

In the 23rd century, a New York City cabbie, Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), finds the fate of the world in his hands when Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) falls into his cab. As the embodiment of the fifth element, Leeloo needs to combine with the other four to keep the approaching Great Evil from destroying the world. Together with Father Vito Cornelius (Ian Holm) and zany broadcaster Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker), Dallas must race against time and the wicked industrialist Zorg (Gary Oldman) to save humanity.

THE FIFTH ELEMENT was directed by Luc Besson from a screenplay he co-wrote along with Robert Mark Kamen. Patrice Ledoux produced and the flick starred Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, Ian Holm, Chris Tucker, and Milla Jovovich. Columbia Pictures released the film back on May 7, 1997.
