Milla Jovovich is a Monster Hunter in teaser for Paul W.S. Anderson film

MONSTER HUNTER, the latest video game movie from MORTAL KOMBAT director / RESIDENT EVIL film franchise mastermind Paul W.S. Anderson, is heading toward an April 23, 2021 theatrical release date, and the marketing has begun. A teaser trailer for the film arrived online over the weekend… and this thing definitely lives up to the "teaser" description. It shows the film's star Milla Jovovich, it offers a glimpse at one of the giant monsters she'll be fighting, then it cuts out after just 15 seconds. Since the teaser itself is so short, it's accompanied by some behind-the-scenes footage in the embed above.

Anderson has said that MONSTER HUNTER is his "most favorite" of the movies he has made. It has the following synopsis: 

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back.

When an unexpected sandstorm transports Lt. In their desperate battle for survival, the unit encounters the mysterious Hunter (Tony Jaa), whose unique skills allow him to stay one step ahead of the powerful creatures. As Artemis and Hunter slowly build trust, she discovers that he is part of a team led by the Admiral (Ron Perlman). Facing a danger so great it could threaten to destroy their world, the brave warriors combine their unique abilities to band together for the ultimate showdown.
