Amazon has certainly been attracting some A-list talent to craft their next generation of TV shows, one of which will be Nicolas Winding Refn's Too Old to Die Young. The upcoming series will explore a hidden world of assassins and it was announced today that Miles Teller (WAR DOGS) would be taking on the lead role.
Miles Teller will play a police officer named Martin who, along with the man who shot his partner, finds himself entangled in the world of assassins. Filled with working-class hit men, Yakuza soldiers, Mexican cartel assassins, Russian mafia captains and gangs of teen-aged killers, Too Old to Die Young will follow these "killers' existential journeys in becoming samurai." Nicolas Winding Refn will direct all ten-episodes of the series, as well as co-writing them alongside Ed Brubaker (Captain America). In a statement, Miles Teller said:
I’m a huge fan of Nic’s work so the opportunity to work with him, and for a company like Amazon, with this type of material is very exciting.
Along with Too Old to Die Young, several of the other upcoming high-profile Amazon series include David O. Russell's mafia crime drama starring Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore, Matthew Weiner's Mad Men follow-up, The Romanoffs, and Yorgos Lanthimos Iran-Contra series starring Colin Farrell as Oliver North. As for Miles Teller, the young actor has several projects on the horizon, such as Joseph Kosinski's fire-fighting drama GRANITE MOUNTAIN on September 22, 2017 and THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, which deals with veterans fighting PTSD, on October 27, 2017.
