Spider-Man Miles Morales

With Tom Holland's excellent turn as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, Marvel has successfully convinced fans that the character is finally in the right hands. With excitement steadily increasing for Tom Holland's solo SPIDER-MAN flick, you could be forgiven for forgetting that it's not the only Spidey film on the horizon. Phil Lord and Chris Miller have been developing an animated SPIDER-MAN film for Sony and according to Heroic Hollywood, it will aim to set itself apart from its live-action counterpart by using a completely different incarnation of the web-slinger.

The outlet reports that it won't be Peter Parker doing whatever a spider can this time around, but Miles Morales, a 13 year old boy from Brooklyn who took over the mantle of Spider-Man after he gained similar abilities. We'll have to take this with a grain of salt for now, but if true, it seems like a very smart move for Sony. We're likely to get several SPIDER-MAN films with Tom Holland in the role, so using Miles Morales in the animated feature will keep them from stepping on their own feet down the line. Plus, a different spin on the Spider-Man mythos is always appealing. The as-yet-untitled animated SPIDER-MAN film is due to hit theaters on December 21, 2018.

Sound off folks, what do you make of this rumour?
