Miles Doleac’s Demigod: Rachel Nichols takes part in ancient hunting ritual

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Five months after Uncork'd Entertainment released writer/director Miles Doleac's THE DINNER PARTY (watch it HERE), it has been announced that Uncork'd and Doleac will be working together again on a new horror film called DEMIGOD. Uncork'd holds the North American distribution rights to the film.

Rachel Nichols – whose genre credits include P2, THE WOODS, the AMITYVILLE HORROR remake, PANDEMIC, RAZE, and the remake of INSIDE – has signed on to star in DEMIGOD as

Robin, who travels with her husband Leo to Germany's Black Forest upon the death of her huntsman grandfather. Soon after arriving at his secluded cabin, Robin realizes the inheritance left her is far more macabre than she had bargained for. She finds herself entrenched in an ancient hunting ritual that will force her to reckon with her family's past and her own will to overcome the monstrous obstacles in her path.

Doleac wrote the screenplay with Michael Donovan Horn and will be producing the film with James V. Bulian, Lindsay Anne Williams, and Wesley O'Mary. Filming is expected to take place in Mississippi this December.

Doleac had this to say about Nichols' casting:

I needed an actor who could play power, pathos, and vulnerability in equal measure. I've admired Rachel's work for many years and I knew she could brilliantly capture this character's complexities."

Nichols is joined in the cast by Yohance Myles, Jeremy London, Sherri Eakin, Lindsay Anne Williams, Alli Hart, and Doleac himself.

I'm not always a fan of the films Nichols stars in, but I am always a fan of her performances in them. She's a great choice for the lead in this, I look forward to seeing how it will turn out.
