Mike Myers wants to do a movie from Dr. Evil’s perspective

Between SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE and his movie work, Mike Myers has created some of the most iconic comic characters in pop culture. Of his most iconic are perhaps Austin Powers and his bald nemesis, Dr. Evil. Talk of a fourth movie has been happening for over a decade, with the movie amounting to just that: talk. But in the age of reboots and remakes, anything is now possible, and Myers now has a new idea for the next outing in the AUSTIN POWERS series.

While at the premiere of his new movie TERMINAL, Myers was chatting with Entertainment Tonight when he was asked which of his characters he would step back into. He then said he wants to do a movie that's told from the perspective of the hilariously villainous Dr. Evil.

I would love to do a movie from Dr. Evil’s perspective. So it would be Dr. Evil 1, Austin Powers 4, is how I would roll. Start the campaign, please. Thank you.

Out of all of his live-action characters, Myers has reprised the role of Evil more often than others in recent years (aside from maybe Wayne from WAYNE’S WORLD). The actor most recently reprised Evil for a JIMMY FALLON sketch, with the character having just been fired from the Trump White House (above). He also did another cold open as Evil three years ago, so I think he really, really, wants to play him again in another film.

Making a Dr. Evil movie would be a smidge more difficult than it would’ve been a few years ago, as the passing of actor Verne Troyer makes the return of Evil’s clone, Mini-Me, impossible. Still, with reboots and long-awaited sequels happening left and right, it may not be a matter of if a new movie will happen, but when.
