Mike Flanagan’s Ouija: Origin of Evil gets a lengthy TV spot

We're less than two months away from the release of HUSH director Mike Flanagan's OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL, a prequel to the 2014 film OUIJA that promises to correct the mistakes of that film and redeem the OUIJA franchise, and the marketing department is shifting into high gear. Not only have we already seen a trailer and multiple posters for the film, but now TV spots are starting to make it on the air as well.

The first TV spot we have to share is a long one. Clocking in at a minute, it nearly functions as a full trailer in itself and gives a lingering glimpse at a film that appears to be some solid horror fun. I really dig the look and sound of the 1960s period setting.

Scripted by Flanagan and Jeff Howard, with whom he wrote OCULUS, OUIJA: ORIGIN OF EVIL shows what happens when

a widowed mother and her two daughters add a new stunt to bolster their séance scam business and unwittingly invite authentic evil into their home. When the youngest daughter is overtaken by the merciless spirit, this small family confronts unthinkable fears to save her and send her possessor back to the other side.

Parker Mack, Kate Siegel, Sam Anderson, Henry Thomas, Lulu Wilson, Elizabeth Reaser, Annalise Basso, and Doug Jones star.

Universal will be releasing the Blumhouse / Platinum Dunes co-production into theatres on October 21, 2016.
