Can’t want to see a REAL look at THE DARK KNIGHT RISES before it comes out next summer? Well forget paltry teaser trailers, rumor has it that you’ll be able to see a significant chunk if you attend the right film this winter.
A theater source that Slashfilm trusts has told them that there will be an 8 minute DARK KNIGHT RISES clip in front of IMAX screenings of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL. The footage from TDKR will obviously be IMAX itself, and MI:GP is actually opening in IMAX theaters five days ahead of its December 21st release.
So is this legit? Well, it wouldn’t be the first time Warners has done this, as they showed the opening scene of THE DARK KNIGHT in front of I AM LEGEND. Stands to reason they might do something similar here, but eight minutes? Anyone else think that’s almost TOO much? I’d rather just watch the whole film at once, but maybe that’s just me.
Warners issued a “no comment” on the story, and while specific details may change, I have a hunch this is going to end up being confirmed.
