As you fans of American Horror Story are very aware, the forthcoming AHS: Hotel will be the first season without dame Jessica Lange, who was the show’s MVP year in, year out, stating with her supporting turn in Season One, aka Murder House. The actress said, “Yes, I’m done” quite definitively earlier this year, confirming reports we read way back in 2013, but today Ryan Murphy is calming everyone’s nerves a bit by leaving the door open for the Emmy-winner’s return.
Here’s what Murphy told EW:
I’ve been talking to her… It’s always possible. I’m trying to deal with her play schedule. Jessica is always about the character. She’ll be back—she’s not gone forever. But that’s the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back we just have to come up with something.”
If Lange really does want to come back, as Murphy claims, I’m sure they can make it happen. I’m also sure AHS fanatics wouldn’t complain too much to see television’s most lovable crazy aunt make a return.
