Mid-Century trailer: Shane West moves into Stephen Lang’s haunted house

Just four months ago, we heard that a supernatural horror thriller called Mid-Century was seeking distribution. Deals have since been made, and Lionsgate is preparing to give Mid-Century a theatrical, VOD, and digital release on June 17th. With that date just two weeks away, a trailer for Mid-Century has arrived online and can now be seen in the embed above.

Directed by Sonja O’Hara (Doomsday) from a screenplay by producer Mike Stern, Mid-Century has the following synopsis:

Looking for a change one weekend, ER doctor Alice and her husband, Tom, rent a glamorous mid-century modern home designed by architect Frederick Banner. As they investigate the home, they learn that Banner and his two wives died mysteriously—yet their spirits are very much alive. As they meet Banner’s deranged son, they realize they must escape the home or succumb to its madness.

The film stars Shane West (Gotham) and Chelsea Gilligan (Door to the Other Side) as Tom and Alice, with Stephen Lang (Don’t Breathe) as Banner, “the occult-obsessed architect who haunts his masterpieces long after a grisly death”. Bruce Dern (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) plays “Lang’s mentor in the supernatural realm”, while Sarah Hay (Flesh and Bone) plays “a housewife forever trapped in her home after her untimely demise”. Vanessa Estelle Williams (Candyman), Annapurna Sriram (The Blacklist), and Jon “Dumbfoundead” Park (Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens) are also in the cast.

Mid-Century is an Astral Plane production, in association with Moo Studios and Slated. Lang and West serve as executive producers alongside Jen Russo, Ian Michaels, Jay Burnley, Stephan Paternot, Jeremy Walton, David Lyons, Morris Ruskin, Preston Bebas, and Melissa Bale. Anthony and James Gaudioso, C.I. Nwodim, and DJ Dodd are co-producers.

What did you think of the trailer? Will you be watching Mid-Century later this month? Let us know by leaving a comment below. I’ll probably be checking the movie out at some point.
