CRAZY RICH ASIANS was released several weeks ago to much critical acclaim, and Warner Bros. is already looking to develop a sequel, but before they reunite for the follow-up, it seems that Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Discovery) and Awkwafina (OCEAN'S 8) may first star in the next feature film from the directors of SWISS ARMY MAN.
Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, best known as The Daniels, are preparing for their next film and Deadline reports that Michelle Yeoh and Awkwafina are currently in talks to appear. Not much is know about the project, which is titled EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE, other than it will be an "inter-dimension action film." I wouldn't expect anything less from the duo who turned Daniel Radcliffe into a flatulent corpse for SWISS ARMY MAN. Production on EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE is expected to kick off next spring and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR directors Anthony and Joe Russo are set to produce.
As for the sequel to CRAZY RICH ASIANS, Warner Bros. confirmed that a follow-up was in the works mere days after its release. Screenwriters Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim are expected to return and will adapt the second book in Kevin Kwan's trilogy, which consists of "Crazy Rich Asians," "China Rich Girlfriend," and "Rich People Problems." Warner Bros. already has an option for the entire series. Director Jon M. Chu already has another film on his slate, Lin-Manuel Miranda's IN THE HEIGHTS, but it's been said that he'll likely return to helm the sequel as well.
