Michael Keaton is enjoying his very own McConaissance thanks in part to BIRDMAN, which is something I've very grateful for as the actor's disappearance from films of note during the 2000's never felt right. Michael Keaton will be returning to the world of comic books as he's set to both produce and star in IMAGINE AGENTS, an adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic of the same name for 20th Century Fox.
A synospsis of Imagine Agents via Amazon:
Where do your imaginary friends go when YOU grow up?
Meet Dave and Terry, agents of I.M.A.G.I.N.E. They’re on the streets to combat the uncontrollable imaginary friends your children create. But they’ll find themselves pushed to the limit when Dapple, one of the baddest figments of the bunch, draws young Elliot Fairview and his best friend, Furdlegurr, into a plot to change the status quo for figments around the world. Saddled with a recently “unseen” figment named Blounder and running out of time, the agents must go to exceptional lengths to prevent Dapple from doing the undoable.
Fox just closed the deal for Imagine Agents, which was created by writer Brian Joines and artist Bachan, and is now on the search for writers to adapt the material. I admit that I've never heard of Imagine Agents before today but the premise sounds interesting enough to make for an imaginative flick. Michael Keaton is currently shooting THE FOUNDER, in which he is playing McDonald's co-founder Ray Kroc, and is also attached to KONG: SKULL ISLAND.
What in the world…
