Kevin Spacey’s Gore Vidal biopic adds Michael Stuhlbarg and more to the cast

Not going to lie, but I'm a bit disappointed that GORE refers to an upcoming Netflix biopic about prolific writer Gore Vidal played by Kevin Spacey, and not an awesome/trashy horror film about a serial killer Vice President. However, Vidal is an interesting guy, and it actually seems a bit odd it's taken this long to have a movie based on his life honestly. I mean, I'd love to see behind-the-scenes stories about CALIGULA and MYRA BRECKINRIDGE! Anyway, while this project has been known about for awhile, Deadline is reporting that Michael Stuhlbarg has been cast as Howard, the long-time companion of the famous writer.

Other recently cast actors include Freya Mavor and Douglas Booth as a young couple whose vacation is derailed by Gore, and Griffin Dunne and Rudolph Nureyev, playing regular visitors to Gore’s Ravello villa.

Also, here's the official synopsis:

The film centers on the period in 1982 following Gore’s (Kevin Spacey) failed effort in the California Senate primary election. He retreats to his Italian home La Rondinaia in a Bacchanalian attempt to circumvent his writer’s block and sense of ennui.

I guess we won't be getting the deetz about his more controversial (and bat-crazy) films, but this still seems interesting, and a fascinating chapter in the author's life. I'll definitely be checking this one out for sure!

Meanwhile, GORE will start streaming on Netflix sometime next year.
