Michael Rooker, Fast & Furious 9

Production on FAST & FURIOUS 9 has been underway for nearly two months, but thankfully someone finally realized that the film was missing something extremely vital – Michael f**king Rooker, y'all!

Deadline has reported that the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY actor has joined the cast of FAST & FURIOUS 9 in the role of Buddy, which is said to be a last minute addition. Can't go wrong with a lil' Rooker in your lives. Unfortunately, that's about all we know about Rooker's involvement in the film, but he'll be joining Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, John Cena, Charlize Theron, and Helen Mirren. Justin Lin, who has helmed four films in the franchise, is back behind the camera for FAST & FURIOUS 9 which is slated for a May 22, 2020 release.

As for Michael Rooker, he's got a number of projects over the horizon, including Blumhouse Productions' FANTASY ISLAND, a darker take on the '70s TV series which will be starring Michael Pena as Mr. Roarke. That film is slated for a February 28, 2020 release, but Rooker also has MONSTER PROBLEMS following the week after on March 6, 2020. The post-apocalyptic film is said to be a coming-of-age story about a young man by the name of Joel Dawson (Dylan O'Brien) who lives in a post-apocalyptic world which has been overrun by monsters. Rooker plays Clyde, an expert hunter who teaches the young man how to survive the monster apocalypse. Rooker is also set to appear in Amazon Studios' pilot for a new TV series based upon Stephen King's The Dark Tower. Busy dude.
