Halloween doesn’t feel the same without Michael Myers roaming about, and luckily this October the master of the butcher knife will grace theaters once again. We still have six months to go, but we have a treat for you in the first poster for the film. It may not be as exciting as a piece of footage, but it's enough for you to start hearing that haunting, classic score in your mind!
Blumhouse posted the poster on social media to mark the movie being exactly six months away from release. Myers is the star of the show on the teaser poster, which simple as it may be, offers plenty to admire for fans of the series who are dying for this new entry.
This new movie will bring back Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie Strode, as well as her daughter (Judy Greer) and granddaughter, all of whom are affected by the return of the villain who tried to kill Laure all those years ago. The movie will take place years after the events of the first film, acting as though all the other films in the series never existed. This new film comes from Danny McBride and David Gordon Green, with Green behind the camera.
As a teaser poster, it's not bad. It has that dark, almost dramatic vibe to it, which may reveal a bit about the tone they're going for here. We know Green and McBride wanted to create something terrifying, focusing more on suspense than blood, so we can probably expect a more grounded approach than the typical slasherfest.
HALLOWEEN hits theaters October 19.
