Well, it looks as though this Friday belongs to the our friendly, neighborhood webhead! Earlier this morning we reported an exclusive scoop regarding the villains and suit upgrades we should expect to see in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING. In it, we mentioned the fact that Michael Keaton was in consideration for a role in the film. Word on the street is that an agreeable contract couldn't be negotiated due to Robert Downey Jr. taking part. Regardless, it looks like something is being worked out as Variety reports that Michael Keaton is back in the mix to play a leading role.
Given that The Vulture will be playing the main baddie in Homecoming, everyone's assuming that Birdman himself would be playing the role. MINOR SPOILERS ahead, but we also know that The Tinkerer will also be playing a part in the film, helping Vulture to become the bird he's meant to be (check out our exclusive scoop video below). Is it possible Keaton could be playing anyone else but the leading villain? I doubt it, but what I do know is that the movie will be better off with his addition, wherever he might fit in.
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING will hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
