That Michael Fassbender certainly is one busy dude; he recently wrapped on X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, is currently shooting ASSASSIN'S CREED, and has the sequel to PROMETHEUS lined up early next year. THR reports that Fassbender is already lining up his next project as he's currently in talks to star in THE SNOWMAN, a crime drama adapted from Jo Nesbo's series of Harry Hole novels.
THE SNOWMAN, which will be directed by Tomas Alfredson (LET THE RIGHT ONE IN) "centers on a detective named Harry Hole who investigates the disappearance of a young boy's mother. All that is left of her is the pink scarf her son gave her for Christmas, which is now wrapped around a snowman that mysteriously appeared in the front yard. As he digs deeper into the case, he comes to realize he may be tracking Norway's first official serial killer." There have been ten books in Jo Nesbo's Harry Hole series so far and Universal/Working Title may be looking at this as a potential crime franchise centering around Michael Fassbender as Harry Hole. THE SNOWMAN has been in the works for several years, at one point Martin Scorsese was even attached to direct.
Michael Fassbender. Norwegian serial killers. Tomas Alfredson. All of those sound like the ingredients of a potentially fantastic film. Fingers crossed this all works out. Michael Fassbender has several films opening soon, both of which have been receiving wonderful reviews; MACBETH will be released on October 2, 2015 in the U.K. (December 4, 2015 in the U.S.) and STEVE JOBS on October 9, 2015.
