Jennifer Lawrence might be done playing Mystique after X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, but according to Heroic Hollywood, her FIRST CLASS and DAYS OF FUTURE PAST co-stars Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy have reached an agreement with Fox, and will return as Magneto and Professor Xavier in future X-Men movies. HH is also reporting that Fox wants Beast actor Nicholas Hoult back as well, however there's no word on how close the studio is to inking a deal with Hoult.
Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy extending their X-Men deals with Fox probably doesn't come as a huge shocker, however I'm still a little surprised Fassbender will appear in future installments, since out of the two he's the bigger name, and he might be leading his own movie franchise if ASSASSIN'S CREED is a big hit.
But I'm certainly not complaining. Even though I could do without Magneto once again making trouble for the superhero mutant team (there are plenty of other villains from the comics that haven't made it to the big screen yet), Fassbender has been absolutely fantastic in the role. What do you think Erik and Charles will be up to post-X-MEN: APOCALYPSE?
X-MEN: APOCALYPSE is due in theaters on May 27, 2016.
