Michael Douglas teases Ant-Man 3 news is coming soon

It has been a while since we heard any news on ANT-MAN 3, with the last tidbit being that Rick and Morty writer Jeff Loveness was brought on to pen the script. Michael Douglas, who plays Hank Pym in the films, took to social media over the weekend and gave an update on the film that indicates fans may be hearing something "pretty soon" although, in true Marvel fashion, he can't give anything away.

During a recent Instagram Q&A, the actor was asked about the upcoming sequel, and Douglas has this to say about the film:

"Ant-Man 3? I can't talk about it. Because the Marvel guys, they'll shoot me with a blow-gun. But I think you gotta hang tight, because there may be some information coming out pretty soon. But I can't tell you."

So, how long is pretty soon? That's something we don't know. Douglas, along with the entire MCU lineup, has been expertly trained to not give away any information before it's time to be delivered (unless it's Tom Holland, who has been known to slip on more than one occasion). There is one possibility where news could be dropped but this is purely speculation. Although San Diego Comic-Con was canceled this year in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was just announced that the convention will host a virtual event this year in its place. The event could be the perfect time to unveil some big news if Kevin Feige and Marvel deem it necessary. You can check out Douglas' Instagram Q&A below:

What we do know is that the primary cast, including Douglas, Paul Rudd, and Evangeline Lilly is set to return while Michelle Pfeiffer, who debuted in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, has expressed an interest in returning for the third film as well. Peyton Reed is also on board to direct once again, a position he has held since the first film back in 2015. I don't think ANT-MAN 3 is a part of the Phase 4 plan for Marvel since that schedule seems pretty tight and has seen its own share of delays due to the coronavirus pandemic but I look forward to any incoming news on the ANT-MAN 3 because I think those solo entries are some of the most underrated in the MCU.
