A couple of weeks ago it was rumored Netflix and director Drew Goddard (who we just recently found out is also in talks to helm the SINISTER SIX spin-off for Sony) were eyeing Dexter's Michael C. Hall for their Daredevil series. In an interview with Vulture, Hall says it's only a rumor, however he would be interested in playing "the Man Without Fear," but would have to read the script first.
I've heard them, but I think that's all they are — rumors. Don't misunderstand, I would definitely consider it … but I can't tell you any inside information, because I think they're nothing but rumors. I really am enjoying mixing it up a little bit, and I'm committing to things that have a foreseeable end in sight when I start them, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of [a new series] happening at some point. But I'd have to read the script!
So if Marvel wants Michael C. Hall and the actor is interested, then he's a lock for Daredevil, right? Not exactly. We don't know if Marvel is actually considering Hall for the character, and if they explore his origin in the new series, they may want a younger actor for the role.
Personally, I think Michael C. Hall would be perfect for Daredevil. He's a big enough star to carry a series, but not so big that it would cost Marvel and arm and a leg to land him. But like Hall says, this is only a rumor, so we'll have to wait and see if Marvel and Netflix actually want him for their upcoming series.
