Michael B. Jordan

Michael B. Jordan is one of the biggest names in movies at the moment, with two major ongoing franchises–the Rocky spinoff Creed and the Marvel Cinematic Universe–on his resume. But before he knocked it out as Adonis Creed and killed it as Killmonger (a role he’s likely done with), he was just a “corny” high school kid carrying around his headshot. In an amusing twist of fate, Jordan recently had the chance to confront one of his former bullies, who happened to be interviewing him on the red carpet at the Creed III premiere.

When Lore’l–who co-hosts “The Undressing Room Podcast”–met Michael B. Jordan at the Creed III premiere, she brought up their past, to which the actor said, “I was the corny kid, right?” Lore’l responded, “No, you did not hear me say that! I said we used to make fun of the name.” Right, much better!

On the podcast, Lore’L recently recalled not only going to school with Michael B. Jordan, but teasing him. “You know what’s so crazy? I went to school with Michael B. Jordan at a point in life…And to be honest with you, we teased him all the damn time because his name was Michael Jordan. Let’s start there, and he was no Michael Jordan.” But if there’s one thing we know from the documentary The Last Dance, you don’t mess with a Michael Jordan, middle initial or not. “He also would come to school with a headshot…We lived in Newark, that’s the hood. We would make fun of him like, ‘What you gonna do with your stupid headshot!?’ And now look at him!”

Look at him now, indeed. Not long after his days at Newark Arts High School, Michael B. Jordan landed the soap opera All My Children, which soon gave way to Friday Night Lights. After one of the best performances of 2013 in Fruitvale Station, Jordan played Human Torch in Fantastic Four and next had the role of Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky’s Apollo Creed, now officially a trilogy. So if you’re an aspiring actor, don’t be embarrassed to carry your headshot around!
